Dun credit report volumes may be photographed by users with a small personal handheld camera or cell phone. Users must abide by all collection handling instructions from library staff and cannot remove volumes from supports or cradles. Some volumes may be unavailable for photography following a condition assessment.
Library staff reserve the right to restrict photography if the ongoing preservation of a volume is put at risk by user handling.
Users may take screenshots from microfilm or request PDF copies of digital surrogates of collection material.
Any images from self-service digital photography or PDF captures from microfilm and digital surrogates are for personal research purposes only and cannot be duplicated, transferred, published, deposited at another institution, or posted online.
The format: "State/Territory, Vol. #, p. #, R.G. Dun & Co. credit report volumes, Baker Library, Harvard Business School" is required for all citations. Users should record this information when using volumes.
Publications (in any format) containing information from the Dun credit report volumes must be reviewed by Special Collections & Archives.
Requests for publication sent to Special Collections & Archives will contain details of the publication (format, title, publisher, date of publication, etc.) as well as electronic copies of the text pages, including corresponding footnotes and bibliographic citations, highlighted to indicate references to the collection. Special Collections and Archives may not be able to approve requests for publication that do not properly cite the credit report volumes.
Special Collections & Archives may need to forward certain requests to publish to Dun & Bradstreet for an additional review. Any publication that makes a direct correlation between R.G. Dun & Co. and Dun & Bradstreet will be reviewed by Dun & Bradstreet.
